The main character is speaking in 1st person, so I don’t really know the person’s name. People so far in the story has not really said anything to the character, the character dresses as the opposite as an athlete would dress, the character keeps thinking about the death of the principal and having to deal with the new principal. The main conflict in the story is the principal’s death and the gym teacher becoming the new principle because the gym teacher is making everyone play at least one sport in order to graduate.

I like how you worded this statement but, the main character is Jack. I also like how you explained why the character is different from the others and how he does not fit in with these kinds of crowds. One other thing I like is how you talked about the main conflict of the new principal's rule.

  2. The novel, Losers Take All by David Klass, starts in first person as the story begins. Jack, the main character of the story is talking about how he has never really found the “right” sport for him or a sport that he never truly loved or wanted to stick with. The beginning of the story starts with Jack talking about his principal suddenly dies in a race that is an annual event at the school. As the story goes on, he talks about how the new principal is not the best and that he does not like his new rule on how all seniors have to participate in at least one full season of a sport. My favorite character in this story so far would have to be Jack because, he is quiet but not to shy and he says what is on his mind no matter what it is and I also like how he somewhat stands up for what he believes in, and does not let other people control his decisions.

Good novel, I like how you added extra things in your blog and not just saying the things Mrs W said to put in and all the things you have stated/said in your blog are true facts so someone that has not read the book yet ill get a general idea of what the book is about

Some predictions I have about this book is that Jack will be independent and not join the football team. I also predict that they C team, will happen and they will find a decent coach and be successful as a team eventually. One other thing that I predict about this book is that Jack;s dad will fully except his decisions, and not try to push him into his shoes, and not expect him to be someone he is not, same for the principal.

I like how your prediction and how you how you think they will stay with the C-team . Any of our predictions can happen they can decide to stay with the C-team and do successful like you think or he will change his mind and go to the Varsity football team like what I think. I do like your prediction because it is very likely to happen.

Something I predict that didn’t end up happening was that Jack was going to stay on the Varsity football team for how good he was. One main reason he didn’t stay on the team is because he got his teeth busted in and got a small concussion. Something I predict that will happen in the future of the book is that he will end up going back to the Varsity Football team. Something that has happened to me and Jack in the book is that we both had an injury in football and had to sit out for a little bit.

I like how you worded this and how you showed points to why he would stay and why you believed he was "scared"to play because his teeth were busted.

In the book “Losers take all” by David Klass, Jack describes his principal as this big mean athlete that is rude and unfair to people that cannot play sports, by making them play a sport. I picture him as a muscular, middle aged man with balding hair. I picture him this way because of the way Jack describes his actions. I also visualize his voice as a bit croaky because of his rules and the way he talks about Jack's father. I imagine him, Principal Muldigher, as a single guy with anger problems by the way the characters in the book talk about him, badly.

I like how you described what you think the Principal looks like and I 100% agree with you now that you said that when I think of his lines and the way he talks to people I can see it but, I wish you also said what you think Jack looks like.

In the book, Jack saw his girlfriend in a car and remembered she only has a permit and doesn't see a parent so I know how Jack is feeling he is feeling scared and confused because he doesn't know what she is going to do he doesn't know if she is going to hurt herself or anything like that and later Jack gets in the car with her and she drives off with Jack so I feel that Jack is still scared and confused and his girlfriend is not having a good life and wants to get away from it with her boyfriend.(Jack) Jack is scared and confused because, 1 he doesn't know if she is going to do anything to him and 2 and doesn't know why she is doing this, but he later figures out why she is doing this it's because her parents are arguing and she thinks its her fault and she also thinks that she was an accident and that they don’t care about her, so she just wants to leave her current life with Jack and have a happier life.
I understand how Jack feels in this situation, he is scared and nervous because his girlfriend is driving him in a car far away from were they live and also her not responding to what he is saying, so he’s all nervous and scared and I,ve been kind of been in the same situation, so I know how he is feeling. My similar situation is my brothers first month of driving we were driving to school and he was turning and this person in front of us going in our direction he speed up to go past a red light and almost hit us, so I was scared and nervous just like he was so when he was in the situation I felt like I was there because I had the same feelings like he had.

I like how you worded this, even though it was a bit long, I like how you compared Jacks girlfriends permit situation to him being scared and/ or frightened. I also like how you compared to you being nervous in some situations. I relate to this because I also get nervous when my brother drives.

This books shows the many sides of sports through showing that not everyone is cut out for them. The book “Losers take all’ by David Klass, shows this thought by putting the main character in situations that he “knows” he is not cut out for, such as football, track, baseball, etc. At the beginning of the book, the new principal Mr. Muhldiger, makes a new rule stating that all seniors have to participate in at least one sport. Jack “tries out” football, knowing it will make his dad and new principal, happy because it is a family tradition. Jack’s dad, and brothers were all football superstars at the school. Jack tries to have a little game with some of the varsity players but it does not go well for him. Long story short, he has an accident and gets a concussion, also his teeth busted but weirdly makes the varsity team. He does not want to accept the offer because he knows the sport is not for him. He also talks about how he knows other sports are not for him even though he may be decent at them. Going back to the question, sports are not for are people, no matter where you stand in your opinion on sports, everyone is good at something, whether it be math, science, english etc, sports do not really matter much if you are doing something you like or enjoy doing.

I like how you went all the way back to the start of the book even though you’re on like page 200 but i wish you didn't skip from like the first 50 pages to where you are now because if someone who hasn't read the book before will be confused on what happens in the book.

In the book Losers take all the principle says that everyone has to play a sport in order to graduate and most of the kids don’t like that because some kids aren’t cut out for sports. Some kids only like to do clubs because they enjoy that and it’s not right to make people do stuff they don’t love. If you want to them to do some activity make them at least do a sport or a club and not just a sport. Kids that don’t do sports or just as normal as kids that do clubs because they are both doing a activity they want to do and are good at it and don’t hate it. Also in the book, the principle got mad at jack for not playing football even though it wasn't his type of sport so, he tried to punch him and hit the wall instead like if he doesn't want to play football accept that let him go play soccer if he wants or join a club and a sport but, you can't force him to play football. Both people in this book are important because the people that dont normally play sports are atleast trying and trying their hardest and giving it a try and thats important because thats what people who try sports for the first tim
